(Lol, worst title in the history of man. XD But seriously, this is my first Left 4 Dead fanfic. So please, be nice to me. Don't flame, hate, and what not. I worked REALLY hard on this. If I mess something up on this or the Left 4 Dead universe in general, please let me know. Yes, this will have OC's, but they're NOT mary sues, and if made them into a sue, please keep in mine I tried really hard not to. Thanks for reading ~ Xenomorph7. Left 4 Dead is not mine, Xenomorphs are not mine, and the Symbiote creatures from Spider-man are not mine. Cheryl is.)
I awoke in my bed, my door already open for me to explore. I walked out, swishing my tail back and forth.
"Good morning, Cheryl." said a guard.
I waved, not really feeling like talking at the moment. I went to the cafeteria and got some eggs and toast, sitting at a table by myself and eating. I stared outside longingly, I wondered what it felt like. Of course, I was being shaped into a 'perfect bio weapon.' I laughed at the thought, nobody's perfect. And just because I have Xenomorph in me, doesn't make me perfect. I may heal much faster, but I can be killed pretty easy. I finished, dumping my plate and wandering through the halls. I suddenly smelt something. It smelt.... Nice. Like cinnamon.... Cookies? Whatever it was, it smelt good and it wasn't coming from the cafeteria. I tracked it deep into the facility, sniffing at a open door. I looked in, and saw nobody there.
"... Hello?" I asked the empty room.
Nobody answered me, so I walked in. I tracked the scent to a container. I looked in to see a purple, gooey mass. I stared at it, curious. It moved across the container, and I jumped. What was it? I looked around for any charts, any papers, but found nothing. I wondered, why would they leave a door open like this? I shrugged, opening the container to play with it out of boredom. I screeched like a Xeno when it jumped on me, attaching to my right arm. It settled, giving me a purple arm with wicked talons.
"GET OFF!" I shrieked, pulling at the substance.
"Calm down, child." said a deep, almost demonic voice in my head.
" GET OUT OF MY HEAD, WHAT'S GOING ON?!" I yelled at it, clawing at my hair.
"Easy, child. We just need somewhere to live." the voice rumbled.
"THEN GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!" I hissed, starting to get mad.
"Child, you're more than those wretched humans..... We need someone as physically powerful as you to live. Besides, we think we have a bargain for you..." promised the voice.
"Like what?" I asked.
"In return for living off you, we can grant you power, and freedom... Admit it, child, you despise this place, you want to be free... See the world, breathe the fresh air.... Whatever you wish...." the voice grinned.
"... You BETTER not betray me or I'll set fire to you." I growled, ready to give up anything to get out of this god forsaken place.
"You won't regret it, child. Now.... Go to sleep and let us do the work." he voice rumbled.
"Wha- I never got to finish, for I was consumed by darkness. I 'awoke' by a large, smooth, grey trail thing, laying in gritty, filthy brown stuff nearby. I jolted up, holding my arms with my hands and staring at all the emptiness before me.
".... What happened." I hissed, terrified.
"You're free now, besides, there's a city just ahead. See the sign?" asked the voice.
"Savannah...? Weird name." I mumbled, beginning to walk down the large, grey trail thing to get into the city.
